Ask

When a trader or institution expresses their intention to purchase an asset or financial instrument from another trader, it is called an "ask". The "ask" price is also referred to as the "offer" price and is one of the commonly quoted prices in the buying and selling of financial assets.

The ask price signifies the price at which an asset can be bought and is typically higher than the market price. It stands in contrast to the bid, which is the price at which an asset can be sold and is usually lower than the ask or offer price.

In the forex market, the ask price is the price at which a trader can buy the base currency. The difference between the ask and bid prices is known as the spread.
